House in North Caldwell, NJ being renovated by Endres Home Builders, around the 1950s.

Endres Home Builders was started by Herman V. Endres in 1935, an immigrant from  Germany with a passion for carpentry and building quality homes. Herman began learning woodworking as a teenager and continued his education further once in America. His vision for building quality homes became a reality when Herman opened Endres Home Builders in 1935 in Nutley, NJ. With his wife Florence running the office, Herman worked to build many quality homes in Nutley and named a few streets found in the town. Along with building, Herman also served as building inspector for the North Jersey area and served on the development board in North Caldwell.

H. Josef Endres, Herman’s son, began working with his father as soon as he was able to hold a hammer. Josef’s knowledge and passion for building quality homes grew and so did his desire to learn more. He attended Montclair State University to major in Industrial Arts and went on to graduate with his bachelors  in the field.  Following in his father’s footsteps further, Josef obtained his building inspector’s license. Josef incorporated the company in 1979 with his wife Donna, running the office.

Endres Home Builders has always maintained the mission to perform quality work and achieve new levels of customer satisfaction. Whether it be a new home, addition, or even a small renovation, Endres Home Builders will give your home the respect and attention it deserves with experience and expertise in the art of carpentry.
